Standing Banners: Which Models are Right for You?

How much am I going to use this banner?
This is important because you can purchase relatively inexpensive “X banners” or “L banners.” These have an X- or an L-shaped frame to which the banner simply attaches. Do I want fabric or vinyl banner displays?
Both materials have pros and cons. Fabric isn’t as shiny, which can make it more appealing for audiences who are continually bombarded with shiny, bright images. A new type of fabric, knit polyester, is a bold choice for exhibitors. It is lightweight and easy to fold tightly for secure storage. Another plus: ink is embedded in the fabric, not just on the surface as it is with vinyl. This makes it last longer and stay sharper.
Traditional fabric is heavier and fades relatively quickly. If you opt for fabric, choose knit polyester.
That said, vinyl is still a viable choice. It is, in fact, the most popular choice for tradeshow standing banners. It’s inexpensive, versatile, and the print is crisp and sharp. Cleaning is easy, but the vinyl can crease. If budget is a major concern, this is a good choice, especially if you commit to treating it well and storing it carefully.
Where am I going to use this banner stand?
If you’re going to use your stand for multiple trade shows and events throughout the year, it’s worth it to invest in heavy-duty hardware and a traveling case. This will protect your asset and ensure it’s ready to perform when you need it.
Also consider how much traffic your event typically sees. If there will be a heavy flow, invest in a higher quality material, such as knit polyester, and select a heavy bottom so the stand won’t be toppled by the eager crowd thronging your exhibit.
If you plan to use your display outdoors or near windows, it is important to inquire about the UV-protection. Sun can fade, crack, and ruin many materials unless they are specifically treated to withstand UV rays. Where you use your stand will help you determine which model is best for your needs.
